Fashion Friday Or So I'm Told

The Murph:  It's Friday aren't you going to do one of those "Fashion Friday" posts.

Me:  No, I did a post on something else today.

The Murph:  But it's Friday and you said you were going to do a post on that dress I bought you for Christmas.

Me:  I know, but I just made up "fashion friday" and I already did a fashion post this week and it's my blog and I am ADD so who knows what or when I may do another fashion post.

The Murph:  But I took pictures of you in the dress and everything and it's Friday.  Fashion Friday.

Me:  I don't know.  I'm ADD.  Whatever comes up in my brain for the day goes out in a post.

The Murph:  I don't care if you're OCD, PMS, ADT, DTR, AARP or whatever you are, it's fashion friday.  You need to do the fashion friday post.  Your followers expect it!

Me:  (Doubtful my followers expect anything from me at this point or are even still following me)  Okaaay...

Sooooo....  here it is.   A "Fashion Friday" post cause it's Friday and the Murph says so.

Trouble With Mr. Frosty And My Favorite Rain Boots

Dress:  Free People,  Rain Boots:  Michael Kors,  Scarf:  Portolano,  Nails:  OPI You Only Live Twice, Lips:  Mac Impassioned,  Bracelet:  David Yurman

I don't like all the rain and general cloudy dreariness, but at least it isn't cold.  I've probably said that a million times the last couple of day.  I also love the excuse to wear my rain boots.  I purchased these almost three years ago and I'm still loving them.  The scarf too!

Most of the Christmas decorations are down, but Mr. Frosty is still hanging out in the yard.  A couple of days ago he was right outside the door to the Boy's "apartment".

Then today he was looking in the Boy's window.  The Boy's going to be really "surprised" when he opens his blinds.  (and the Murph wonders why the Boy has issues!)

I took the wreath off the front door and before I could pack it away properly, Phantom took over and claimed it for his napping spot.  Also, it 's a strategic location to lunge out at the other two cats when they happen to walk by.

Phantom's crafty like that.

We got this as a wedding gift and the Murph's already claimed it as his.

I changed my nails back to OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark.  I really do like it better than red, but I can do red temporarily for the holidays.  Especially if it's sparkly red like OPI's You Only Live Twice.

Phantom was ready for dinner and he knows where the food is located.  Look at how intently he is looking toward the food cabinet.

Ed was in on it too.  He's ready to eat, but waiting patiently from a safe distance.

Phantom's looking at me like "okay, okay, your nail color is just great and now you have enough pictures and everything, so would you just please FEED US ALREADY!!"  (those other plates were from breakfast).

Cute but demanding!

I Say Comfortable - The Murph Says Sexy

We didn't take too many pictures while we were at the beach this Thanksgiving.  We went out a couple of times while we were there though. I really love this dress.  It is very comfortable and versatile and not very expensive at all.  It can easily be dressed up or down.  I have actually worn my black Ugg boots with it.  (I know!  Sorry!!)   I also have it in leopard print, but I don't really get to wear that one as much.   And, of course, this dress has spandex!  I've come to realize that almost all my clothes do!

The shoes are Jeffrey Campbell purchased last year.  I don't get a chance to wear them much, but I LOVE them!  Phantom was being very cooperative to let me hold him and get a picture too.  He is VERY heavy though!

Sunset over Mobile Bay. To the right is a picture of the US Alabama Battleship.  I remember taking The Boy to see it when he was little.

Going through downtown Mobile, Alabama heading back to the beach.

Another one of the US Alabama Battleship in Mobile Bay.

You can barely see them, but there were hundreds of birds flying around together in the Santa Rosa Sound.  Migrating?  Who knows, but The Murph grabbed the camera and started taking pictures from the balcony.

And a big squeeze for my beach cat who did NOT want to come back home the other day.  He should have been an only cat, but he will have to tolerate the other two cats for now.  I could send him to live with The Boy in his apartment and pay the pet fee, but I think I would miss him too much!  It is bad enough that The Boy's not here anymore.

That's it for this beach trip.  Can't wait to get back down there after Christmas!

Fashion Friday - Cause I Do Sometimes Wear Things That Don't Involve Spandex (UPDATE!)

It doesn't happen often that I actually wear nornal, non-work out clothing, but when I do it looks something like this.  While I wanted to do weekly fashion blog posts when I first started this blog over a year ago, it kind of didn't go as planned because there's only so many Lululemon, Nike, or Brooks fashion posts I can do and still hope to have anyone still reading my blog.  I put work out clothes on the morning and stay in them most of the day the past few months.  I blame it on the Murph who decided one workout wasn't enough per day and decided to do two - one in the morning and one in the late afternoon.  I'm a team player so I go along.

Black Tank Top - Express - old but similar Here
Top - Bebe - old
Jeans - J Brand similar Here
Boots - Steve Madden old but similar and newer version Here
Nails - OPI Lincoln Park After Dark - find it Here

Very Important Update!!

Okay, I lied about the spandex (you know when I said I actually wear something that doesn't involve spandex) because I just realized there's actually spandex in...

the jeans,

fabric & care -cotton/spandex

the tank,

  •  soft tank in a classic fitted shape with light stretch. The double scoop neck looks hot layered or alone over shorts or a flirty mini.
    • Double scoop neck
    • Sleeveless
    • Fitted shape
    • Straight hem
    • Cotton/Modal/Spandex
    • Imported

the BeBe top (take my word for it - it's stretchy)

and probably in the boots too.  I wouldn't be surprised.  So practically my entire wardrobe involves spandex.  Without spandex my life is over!  I wouldn't have anything to wear.  I mean REALLY not have anything to wear.  Not like now when I look in my closet full of spandex and can't "find" anything to wear.

What I Did Today- Christmas Trees, Manicure and Hair Balls

I finally started putting the ornaments on the Christmas trees today.  I almost finished, but still have a few more ornaments, the garland and the tree toppers to go.  Next I'll set up the Christmas village collection and then do the mantle, centerpieces on the dining room and kitchen tables and the outside lights and wreath.  We already have a neighbor who beat me with the outside Christmas lights and decorations.  I thought I would be the first to get mine up, but no, they win.

I purchased this musical note garland at Pottery Barn a few years ago and used it for garland around the big Christmas tree last year.  I don't know what I am going to do with it this year since it doesn't really go with the gold and silver color scheme on the big tree that I'm doing this year.  I am switching everything up from last year.

I could probably use it on this smaller tree in the family room.  Colors here are red, green and gold and the ornaments are more casual and fun.

The cats are really digging the trees.

I got a manicure and pedicure today using my favorite black nail color - OPI Lincoln Park After Dark found HERE.  It is lovely dark, eggplant color.  I have also used the matte OPI Lincoln Park After Dark color, which is very unique, but I don't like it as much as the regular version.

This is one of my favorite Christmas pillows purchased at Pottery Barn HERE a few years ago.   I discovered the other night that Cadence likes to sleep on it so it's now covered in cat hair.

Phantom enjoying the Christmas tree.

Another one of OPI Lincoln Park After Dark.

Lot of nice things going on today, but also some not so nice things...

Cadence had another hair ball incident.  The Murph blamed it on too many cat snacks.  You can see Phantom checking it out.

I wish I could train this cat to clean up his own hair balls.  Unfortunately, he's been begging me all day for snacks and I've refused to give him any after the incident.  He can be very demanding, but I've stayed strong.  Tough love!
